NIGHTWATCH is a free daily logic defence game. The Heart of the keep sits in the middle of a nine-by-nine yard. Each night, creatures come in from the edges, and every one of them follows a rule written out in plain words on its card: where it walks, how fast, what it avoids. Nothing is random once the night starts. Read the rules, predict where each creature will stand turn by turn, and place your walls, pits, lanterns and decoys so that nothing reaches the Heart. Then hold the night and watch it play out exactly as you predicted. Score is the number of nights you hold.
Seekers walk toward the Heart, closing the larger gap first. Flankers go east or west first. Chargers move in a straight line and turn clockwise when blocked. Moths fly to the nearest lantern and stop there. Mimics copy the last step of the creature listed before them. Some move only on even turns, some take two steps a turn, some never enter light, some smash walls. A night is twelve turns; every creature acts once per turn, in list order.
Before a night is dealt, a solver checks that it can be held with the pieces in your bank; nights it cannot hold are re-rolled. The Hint button places one piece from such a plan. Runs still end, because the solver is bounded and the nights escalate: a perfect planner lasts roughly seven to twenty nights. Full rules are on the how to play page, and the longer NIGHTWATCH guide on Timeburn has a worked prediction and strategy.
Tonight's watch: the same keep and creatures for everyone, changes at midnight UTC, once a day. Endless: a fresh keep whenever you like. Your record stays in this browser; there is no account.
